I was born in Bend Oregon, raised in Eugene ( thus the Duck crazed madman ) moved to Portland area when I was out of school, bought a house in Sandy Oregon when I was 20, I liked R/C planes and cars along with many other Hobbies Moto-X, Salmon Steelhead fishing, all types of hunting; Deer, Elk, Rabbit even Duck hunting…

When I was 37 move to Northern California for a brief stint at a school Dist. Ended up in Las Vegas within a year. Got back into R/C gas power planes but after crashing too many planes due to winds…

Went fishing in Lake Mead for Striper’s and thought a sailboat would be cool out here. And since I can’t fly in the winds I’ll use something that needs wind. I bought a little 18inch sailboat kit…I had never owned a real sailboat or was raised around them, I did have one sailboat class back when I was a kid.

I started to check out AMYA, I read "what’s the best boat to get? and that I should get a boat that people sail in the area not just for competition but more to be on the same page as others, support etc.

Went down to the local clubs sail site to check them out and see if it was something I wanted to try out, I didn’t talk to anyone at this point… I guess I’m shy…but I did do my research, 1st boat had tapered carbon mast two shrouds no spreaders, upgraded sails on order…(Carr) I show up late and won one race with the stock sails….and I’ve been going down hill ever since…….
